The Messerschmitt Bf-162 Jaguar, a light bomber that could not be.

This plane competed with the Henschel Hs 127 against the Junkers Ju 88, the model that reached the stage of mass production. The design of the Bf-162 responded to a specification issued in 1935 by the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (Air Ministry of the Third Reich - RLM) for schnellbomber (fast bomber) for tactical use.

JG 26 - Western Front 1940!.

On January 1, 1940 the III./ JG 26 (HQ, 7. Staffel, 8. Staffel and 9. Staffel) was deployed in Essen-Mülheim. The group was equipped with the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1 and E-3. It was within the framework of the staff of Jagdgeschwader 26 and its task was to ensure the air defense of the Ruhr area. At that time its Commanding Officer was Major Ernst Freiherr von Berg (nicknamed the propeller killer).
