Difference in formations?

Okay, what's the difference between a Schwarmkeil, and a Schwarmwinkel formation?

X X is how I pictured the Schwarmkeil

Was I close?

Never expected an aviation question like this from me, didja???

Damn... This is the first time I've actually looked at the post. In the preview, it looked the way it was supposed to!

Okay, the Schwarmkeil I drew looked like a lopsided inverted 'V', where the Schwarmwinkel looked more like a trapezoid (as I drew it, anyway...).

I'm looking at a book of basic Luftwaffe fighter formations and the one's listed are: Rotte, Schwarm and Staffel. I tried to draw them, but the computer bunches the + symbols (a/c) together, so the 3D accuracy cannot be obtained. If those are the same, I could describe the formations if you like.

Given that Winkel means angle, I would picture the Schwarmwinkel to be an echelon formation -- but what do I know about aircraft formations?
