It's great to see a new generation of Russian military historians professional works being translated to English for the global market. It's high time that more studies from the Russian side are coming to the light.

There are still a huge ton of undiscovered archives in Russian Federation with regards to WW2. Hopefully one day these archives are more easily accessible for researchers conducting studies on WW2.

I have Alexander Statiev's work on the Soviet counterinsurgency operations on the Russian western borderlands and it is a really good, free of those disguised Soviet propaganda as you typically found in the works of John Erickson, Gabriel Gorodetsky e.g.

Statiev's work is very dry and heavy to read typical of academic studies, just like Rolf Hinze's work.

Hello Klaus,

I will be looking for Statiev's work as well.

By the way, do you have Aleksei Isaev's Dubno 1941? Is it worth to get it? At the moment the price in Amazon had been reduced so I was wondering it would be worth to get it

At least no more of Glantz' churning out Ostfront books ala Kurowski year by year :)

I bought Dubno, but I haven't read it yet. However, it does look very good.
