This looks like a very interesting book, Kamen! The Battles for Hungary and Budapest are in my opinion some of the most interesting fronts during the war, and I've visited Budapest several times, and also the Lake Balaton area. I'm looking forward to buy and read your book this summer, as I already have Meier's "Drama zwischen Budapest und Wien" as well as Ungváry's "Battle for Budapest"...

Best regards,

Dear Kamen Nevenkin ,
Happy to note your new book .I have ordered it at once .
But how about your proposed book with helion publisher-the similar book adout Budapest.and battle for east prussia?
Do the work with helion publisher cancelled?
Thanks for your reply.
best regards

rommel170,

thank you for asking. This a completely different book, it is actually a prequel to my work that is going to be published by Helion. The problem with the latter one is that I was not satisfied with the quality and quantity of the available factual material and I had to re-write (and expand) the entire manuscript. Now I'm through the final editing process and I hope that it will be out pretty soon. The book about East Prussia was delayed due similar problems and mostly because it will contain a considerable amount of maps that have to be produced by a third party. It is almost certain that 'Entrapment' will be released first and only then the book about E. Prussia will follow. Anyway, I'm sure that in both cases you won't be disappointed.

Kamen,

Great news to hear that both titles are close to release (no more disappointing updates from Amazon!)

News update:

Last week I received from the publisher a formated, but still unedited pdf copy of the book. Currently it is 286 pages long (save the index) and contains 18 portrait photos, 39 'action' photos, 17 maps and 9 OOB charts. Generally speaking, it looks good and reads well.

All the best

A very enjoyable and informative book. As a wargamer I found it to be full of great "scenario" information and as an historian I found it to be full of new to me information on the situation in Hungary both military and political.
