Hi folks
There is an upcoming book on the SS Sonderkommando Dirlewanger. As far as I know, this is the 3rd book on the infamous SS unit after French Maclean's and Rolf Michaelis book on it.

Sounds interesting, I'll be keeping an eye on it. Hope it's not as dull as MacLean's book.

Re: New book on Sonderkommando Dirlewanger
Hello Nicolai.
I am very sorry but my knowledge of the english language is to bad to tell you something about the contents.
The only what I can say is taken out of the table of contents.
The first 50 pages are talking about the unit history.
From Berlin to Lublin,
Bielorussia from february 1942 until july 1944
From Warsaw to Cottbus august 1944 - may 1945.
After that you have the personality of Oskar Dirlewanger followed by some operations of the unit and so on.
Maybe this two links here below are able to help you more if you can made an english translation of it.

Apoliges for my poor english but I tried do to my best.
It's my schoolenglish and that's far away.
Hope it helps
Regards
Prosper

Re: New book on Sonderkommando Dirlewanger
It seems there is an upcoming memoir (published by Schiffer Publishing) from a member of the Sonderkommando Dirlewanger and edited by Rolf Michaelis.

The author is a serious historian from a french research center. I ve got different books from him. He is specialized in the Nazi state. His work is not only a factual work but tries to give analyses.

Hi all,
dear Prosper, dear Prevot
a great book, indeed. It's easy to write a blood-freezing book about those criminals, it's hard to write a good, gripping, historical book. Ingrano did it
Pozdrawiam
