I have recently acquired a copy of Der Femhof by Totenohl, copyrighted 1934, printed 1940. With 160,000 copies printed this was one of the most widely distributed novels of the 3rd Reich. While the book is not particularly difficult to obtain today at a reasonable price this one intrigued me because it contains not only the inner sleeve synopsis, which is very dificult to find, but it also has about a dozen German autographs/signatures inside the first page. They were clearly written long ago, although at different times with different pens, mostly with fountain style pens.
I do not recognize any of the signatures. I am at a loss as to why they are there as I have not seen this before. Your thoughts?
I'd be happy to post a picture of the signatures if you prefer.
Best,
