any new`s about the release, or can we close the box, as the book would not see the light of the world?

I will check if there are any status updates and report back in a day or two. Due to various reasons I have not been actively monitoring the progress for some time.

I got a short reply from the publisher indicating that the editing is still underway and the book is likely to go to printers in the spring of 2015. It should not be forgotten that this is Chris Lawrence's hobby project, so if paying contracts are in the way, so be it. Plus the publisher is very perfectionist.

A few days ago, Chris Lawrence posted this on the TDI forum:

"Well, the Kursk book has gone to the printers. So everything is done and it is going to be released soon. I am hoping by 1 October.

The book is 1660 pages. I don't have a word count, but it is bigger than War and Peace, except there is no peace. Sorry it took so long getting out. Hopefully, it will be worth it."

Can it really be...?

No mention of which publisher. No word on price either lol. 1660 pages? I may have to wait for the nearest payday before buying!

The price estimate is in the 3 figures, i.e. probably between $100 and $200. That is what my current info indicates.

The publisher has not given me an explicit permission to reveal its name yet. I'll ask and report back asap.

Well, I have some info to share. I have seen a photo of a "printer's dummy" and the book is huge! The format is about 8" x 10". The price has not been determined yet, but the publisher estimate is about $180. It may sound steep, but given that many militaria books of far lesser size and historical value are priced at or above $100 it is not that bad. The publisher is "The Aberdeen Bookstore". I would also like to add that the editing and design has been carried out by a very experienced professional editor.

You mean Tom at Aberdeen? That's really interesting!!! I've been dealing with them for many years now. They don't publish much but when they do they're always good. I'll definitely but it!!! Keep us informed when it can be pre ordered. Thanks!
