Hmm... Looks catchy but seems quite loosely connected with the content IMHO. True Richard, this must have been done by an 'artisit'
And Tigers would have been much more 'artistic'

Are they Tigers, Michal? I bloody hope not. They look like Pz IIIs to me, although the scene does look rather Barbarossa-esque.
I think it's better than the original cover I posted because it suggests armour and Stukas - ie 'Blitzkrieg' - rather than troops at barricades in Warsaw.

I'm not very much into German armour but these tanks look like Pz IIIs with 5 cm KwK and add-on extra armour, which were introduced much later.
I'd rather see Pz IV with short-barelled 7.5 cm cannon or formation of several Pz Is or IIs - of course with white crosses on front armour plate.
Regards,
Michal Jungiewicz

Agreed, it is a nice image, and it will sell the book (which is what matters), but the add-on armor only came after facing British 2-Pounders in North Africa. Those fired solid shot, and that shot wasted most of its power against the outer armor, and was likely to break up when it encountered the main armor. The 5cm kurz main armament was first introduced in 1940, but only became widespread during 1941.

I'm a little loathe to tell the publishers to ditch the artwork (not least as they'll probably say "no") but it is a little frustrating as I sent a disc full of authentic images from the Polish campaign...
Guess I'll have to don my tin helmet and absorb the Flak

Well personally, i tend to skip the flashy covers and would buy the book next to it : A black (or other single-color) cover with a single white sentence : "The German invasion of poland by Richard Hargreaves"..
(its a youth trauma i think: In my younger days i bought to many flashy crap to ever fall for that again. Even if i know the author to be a good one. )

As long as the next book isn't by Franz K or Charles Whiting, I can live with thatericv wrote:Well personally, i tend to skip the flashy covers and would buy the book next to it : A black (or other single-color) cover with a single white sentence : "The German invasion of poland by Richard Hargreaves"..

Andreas over at AHF has very kindly reviewed the book based on a first draft of the manuscript (which doesn't differ much at all from the finished book, except for the lack of maps and images).
