Much depends on how one views books: purely as means to and end or an end in itself. To me it is the latter, hence I use mylar jackets for all dustjackets, I never write anything on them and store and read the carefully them to maximize their life.

I am sorry : though I checked twice the whole Adolf Salie's album (which contains nearly 400 photos), I could not find the famous - but blurred - photo showing the Gniloj Tikitsch's crossing. Maybe it was a photo he provided to Willi Hein but that he did not take himself. This could explain its absence from the album. I only have the long file of soldiers walking towards the West after the crossing.

No, it didn't - you have to buy that separately. It should have been included, I agree. I can send you the electrons though if you want them.
