Hello!

The new tome of the german Ritterkreuzträger is currently available from http://www.wehrmachtdivisionen.de for around 70 Euro. It is supposed to be very well researched, especially for the recipients in the Spring of 1945.
Scherzer continues in the tradition of von Seemen and Fellgiebel and I will definitely buy it this winter.
Has any Forum member bought/read the book? Reviews?

I've just recieved Scherzer's "Ritterkreuzträger 1939-1945" and after glancing through the book for an hour I can only say - FANTASTIC! :D

Being a book with short entry biographies, it's fully packed with information. Every RKT has date and place of birth as well as death. Furthermore, if the RKT recieved the German Cross in Gold, it's mentioned with award date. Also notes on what Front the RK was earned as well as info on eventual careers after the war in the Bundesheer.

Veit Scherzer seem to have gone through all the relevant archives and have a detailed discussion on sources. This will be many hours (years!) of reading. A suberb reference book well worth it's price! Highly recommended for those with a deep interest in the Ritterkreuzträger... :!:

I will not throw away my old and thumbmarked "von Seemen" but it will sure collect some dust for quite a while...

Happy regards,
