Did such things exist? A German/English dictionary with military terms

Yep! It sure did exist and it's widely available fairly cheaply for about 20 bucks or less. I believe many of the online dealers have copies for sale. You might want to try Angleray Books first. Also, in case you didn't know, Feldgrau.com (the main site for this forum) has a fairly extensive glossary as well.

Readings in Military German

Post by wikinger59 »

I have the 1943 "Readings in Military German". Has a German-English military dictonary, German grammar section to teach English speakers the German language. Has three sections on the "Army", "Air Force" and "Navy". These are articles from wartime German military publications. This book was made to teach military German to English speaking persons.
I will sell this book (have 3) for $25, including shipping to the Continental US. Overseas must pay actual postage.

I have an Marineworterbuch Funfsprachig
(Deutsch, englisch, franzosich, spanisch, ittalienisch)

Herausgegben
vom Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine
Verlag Bernard & Graefe. Berlin SW 68

It is an original third reich edition, Kriegsmarine
so I would believe there would also have been different one for Heer,
Luftwaffe etc.

I have an actual dictionary which works well. It´s not expensive:

The Military Eitzen
Militärwörterbuch Deutsch-Englisch, Englisch-Deutsch
from: Kurt Hilmar Eitzen
Verlag Mittler & Sohn
ISBN: 3-8132-0307-7
There you can find also military slang, idioms etc.
I hope this helps, Volker
