I would greatly appreciate a translation of the text of this post card. I am looking for clues as to which regiment/squadron the photo is from. I know that lances where discontinued around 1927 so this helps to date the photo. Thank you.

In a nutshell:
The sender writes that he was sending a Vakanzen-paper*, and a Christmas card in the same mail as this card; that so far it was all he received; that everything else is still the same; had terribly boring holidays; asks how it was there; tells about a family visiting; sends greetings to all of them.

Thank you so much for the translation. I hate to ask for more, but can you tell me what town/city this card was mailed to? It might help to narrow down which regiment this photo from. I am interested in the 8th Regiment, which was based in the Breslau area.

The card was mailed to the family of Wilhelm Schiffer,
living at Herrn Oberlandjäger Henschel at Lengerich, Kreis Lingen an der Ems.

Lengerich, Germany, is a municipality in Lower Saxony, and belongs now to the Emsland district (The Ems is a river.)
Lingen, Germany, is a town in Lower Saxony and used to be the district for Lengerich.
If you look it up on a map, it is a bit South-West of Osnabrück.

Thank you again. I assume this was not a photo of 8th Regiment, but it is very interesting history from this period. I am sorry I did not keep up with continue with my course work in the German language so I could translate this myself.

I was not able to read the name on the postal stamp which could have been narrowing down the location where he was stationed.
Sending the card to somebody in Lengerich does not really tell you where he was writing from! So don't give up hope yet! :)

Had a closer lokk at the stamp, and for me it seems the stamp says "Neuhaus".
The N_UHAUS are readable, and im pretty sure the 2nd letter is an U.
