While entering some loss data from 19th army, I have come across the term "blutige verlust" (bloody losses ?). In the context of loss reports, does this imply dead, wounded, or dead+wounded ?
thanks,

The term is not difined in an official way, it is more some kind of impression for a loss which is "sigfnificant" and caused by enemy action. This includes dead, wounded or even missing soldiers.
Re: "blutige verluste"
In this case, there is another category in the HrsGp G loss reports - missing+onleave. I dont know why they didnt use precise counts, but I would guess blutige verluste is dead+wounded.

'blutige verluste'
One sees this in the divisional histories, especially the ones published postwar.
I've always read it as losses pertaining to significantly violent/hard-fought actions.
