There is a Munster in Germany. It's about 70 Km south from Hamburg. There is a very large military practise area around that city. (I suggest it's the largest in Europe, I was there 01/00-02/00)

Hi, Balthasar!

Just to be niggling: Munster is also the garrison city of the 2d German Army Panzer Training Center, and the city has a huge and truly fascinating military museum, specialising in (I wonder why?) Armor.

I would give the left-must eyelid hair to be able to spend a week there and clamber aboard all these beauties,up to and including a fine example of a Royal Tiger, my very last assignment as a driver.

Ah, well....the spirit is willing, but the muscles groan! Joscha

Yes, I remember visiting the Panzer Museum in Munster. It was with my father when we visited relatives down there (Must have been before the Berlin Wall was broken).

http://www.munster.de/e2_germ/kultur/f_panzer.html

"Publikationen:
Museumskatalog, 382 Seiten, Preis: 8 Euro, in englischer Sprache 5 Euro
Ansichtskarten von verschiedenen Ausstellungsstücken."

In english 5 Euro and in german 8? How do they do that? Anyway... If anybody is interested: The adress ist

Panzermuseum Munster
Hans-Krüger Straße 33
D-29633 Munster

Instead of "Hans-Krüger Straße 33" you could also write "Hans-Krueger Strasse 33"

Should be the 2nd Division, or not? My unit belonged to the 1st Div, so we didn't realy care about the 2nd HQ... Besides: we were more interested in the dutch (female) artillery(crew). *fg*
