In the context of my family research I try to find out something more about my grandparents. Unfortunately, the files are rather poor and since almost all relatives are already deceased, I can hardly ask anywhere.

One source that has not yet been pursued is the military past of my grandfathers.

Erwin Zölch, born on 05.06.1910 in Schnecken/Fleissen

• 1939 1. Kompanie Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 17
• 1943 Panzer-Regiment 24
• 1944 Panzer Regiment 24
• 1945 Panzer Regiment 24

Emil Gruss, born 21.02.1906 in Gestob

• 1942 3. Kompanie Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 13
• 1942 Sanitäts-Kompanie 156
• 1944 Wounded Badge Sanitäts-Kompanie 1/156 I Division as Obergefreiter (lance corporal)

Possibly someone has information on this.
