Hello Rudi S- Thanks for letting us know the latest about you. I imagine that you have noticed what a bite out of retirement pay the State of California takes out of your federal retired pay, at least that is what I hear from retired friends in San Francisco and Sacramento. Since others here have announced their September movements I can say that my wife and I are presently on vacation in the Luberon in S.France and won't return home until 1 October.

Rudi Salvermoser !, I am VERY happy to see that you are still alive and kicking; as for short term memory loss, I know what you mean.
And . . . .my appreciation for your longevity marriage, I wonder if that has something to do with "Meine Ehre heisst treue".
Rudi Welz has quite a record too, and from the looks of it, he is not calling it quits for some time.
and I am happy that my wife permits me to stick around, and keep putting up with me.
And for those out there who think that is too schmalzy, No, it has not been a "rose garden" all the time, but as Loes and I were married for "time and all eternity" in a Mormon temple, I think I could not hope for a better half to spend all that time with, than She. :D :D

Rudi Welz,! I got your e-mail THANK YOU !!!!! I have become quite a procrastinator lately, and as one of my grandmothers used to say: "Morgen, Morgen, niemals Heute, sagen alle faule Leute" . so i am ashamed that I have neglegted you for so many weeks.
I am VERY happy that Erika was able to come to visit your daughter; I hope that she (and you) will have the time of your life.

As for other good friends on this and other forums, the procrastination also worked against you. So 'mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" (now get a dictionary to figure that one out)

Your truly is still kicking, a little bruised and dented now and then, here and there, but life goes on.

"Grüssen" !!!!!!

It's good to see you HaEn, Rudi and Rudi. Since the loss of my grandfather in May I am slowly realizing that they just don't make people of this calliber any more, myself included. I admire you fellas for your longevity, dedication in all you do.

Thank you Brooke.

I just rediscovered an old (10 year-old) post by Jason Pipes. The address:

[email protected]

It's about me and you might find it interesting to read.

Best regards,

Rudi

Hello,
the article I referred to (above) apparently wAs written by Russ Folsom. I incorrectly assumed it had been written by Jason Pipes.
Mea culpa!

I have to apologize for my last statement.
It was Jason Pipes (not Mr. Folsom) who wrote the 5-pages long critic of my interview on http://www.feldgrau.com/interview6.html
Sorry about my mistake.

Hello to all of you who responded.
I am still doing OK. In spite of the few cold ( and I mean COLD) days lately, I still like living here in Florida.
My entire family (which is not large) lives here; as a matter of fact, the house of our daughter (with family) is next door to us.
I wish everyone of you a Happy New Year; or as we say in Bavarian: an guatn Rutsch ins Neie Johr.
Viel Gruesse, Tschuess, und Servus,
Rudi

Hello Rudi,

Best of health and a Happy New Year.
Couldn't get better than living next door to your family. :D

Understand today in Boca Raton it is only 52 degrees, that is cold for Florida.
My Mother has turned on the heat. To those of us who live North we wouldn't mind
that 52 degrees as its minus 7.

Hello Rudi
Nice to see you are still around or maybe I havn't been around.
Anyway I hope you had a nice Christmas and will have a Happy New Year, same for HaEn and the rest.
Just think I received notice to repeat my driver's test, here in Canada everybody after 80 has a driving test every two years, administered by a young lady who could be my grand daughter. I just hope she does not remember me because she does not share my sense of humor. :?
Best Regards,
Gerhard

Hello Gerhard, nice to see you!

Wishing you, Rudi, and Haen the best for a New Year. I'm certainly glad to see you all around here.

Gerhard, I believe the absense of a sense of humor is required to work for any department of motor vehicles for they are as dry as can be here, too.
