Guten Tag,
to all of you you who sent me wishes, thank you!
I am still doing well - plan on sticking around for quite some time.
To everyone one on this forum: my best wishes in 2010.

By the way, yesterday we've spent all day in Disney World with family from the Washington, DC area. It was a lot of fun - temperature climbed to 70F. We could not see our granddaughter performing as she worked in Animal Kingdom and we visited the Madic Kingdom only.

Hello everyone,
it's been a long time that no info was posted.
I am still doing OK here in Florida. Would like to see some posts again from the oldtimers.

Hello Rudi,
I have enjoyed your posts. I hope things are going well with you and yours. In my part of Illinois, it has turned cold and windy. I used to work with a pipefitter, Dieter, who was from Munchen (Munich.) His dad was a Heer officer and his uncle was SS. Dieter ended up in the US army and serving in Germany. His dad was still a nazi and never spoke to him after he saw him in his US uniform. It is amazing the number of German vets who settled here, and contributed so much to our country. I pray the Lord adds blessings to your years and years to your life!
Jeff

Hello Mr. Salvermoser, good to hear from you and that all is well. I too would like to see more from the "old timers".

Best regards to you sir and I hope that the Florida climate is treating you very well this time of year.

Hello everyone,
BTW Brooke, you may call me Rudi (even though I am a little bit older than you - ha, ha).
I am doing alright. This week, some people from the 'Breakthrough Films & Television Company (Toronto, Canada)' will be visiting me this week for the purpose of an interview about the Battle of Narva (in which I participated as a member of the FBB/GD Kampfgruppe).
Wish me luck,
Rudi

Glad to hear you are still breathing Rudi
But since we are on the subject of missing persons, "wahapped" to Rudi Welz ? Have not heard from him lately.
He was "Skyping" the other day, but i did not want to butt in, because he probably was talking with his daughter in Michigan.
And . . . ? are you, Rudi W. and I the only vets left on line ??
Oh well.
"hang in there" my friend !

just a little follow up.
I e-mailed Rudi Welz, but have not heard back from him yet. My German is getting worse by the day, so I wrote him in English.I do know that he is fluent in english, because we corresponded in it before.
I am afraid that his wife took a turn for the worse, but keep hoping that I am wrong.
If anybody has heard from him lately, PLEASE send me an e-mail or p.m.
He is one of the "last of the Mohikans", and a good friend and kamerad.
Thanks in advance

I would like to wish Rudi's wife Erika "Gute Besserung".
I'm still doing OK.
Rudi Welz: How is good old Germany now. Haven't been there for a while. Unfortunately, I have no more family members over there, just a few old friends with whom I correspond by telephone every now and then.
I wish everyone on this forum well and hope to hear from you all (as we said in Texas) again.

Hallo Rudi,
thanks a lot for your godd wishes! I hope Erika will stay some more years with me.
What can I say how "good old Germany" is now? The difference between poor and rich is showing more and more, just
like over there. The lady from East-Germany should take car for the german people first, but she has other interests.
She want's to be "Amerika' best friend".

Servus Rudi,
herzlichen Dank fuer Deine Zeilen.

You don't know for half, how good I felt to see both of you corrsponding on line.

Do you guys realize that the three of us seem to be the only "last of the Mohikans" on the forum ???
I got wind some time ago, that nobody of the old 'Panzerjagd kommando" was alive anymore other than me, and somewhat later heard, that no-one of my Artillery battery of the Royal Netherlands Army, where I was a Battery commander, seems to be around anymore either. It's getting lonesome in the ranks.

Oh well as McArthur said: Old soldiers never die !!! ( we just smell that way  )

All the best for both of you and your families, from the great Pacific Northwest.
