Major Geisler, Rudolf

Post by Ebusitanus »

Greetings,
I need desperately to find info regarding this man. He was a Silesian Major in the PiBtl. 662, attached to the 18 and majorly 16th Army and its XXVIII Corps.
He won his Kights cross on 7/12/43 and his oaksleaves postumly on 13/4/44 when dieing at Kowel.

Could someone tell me more? or the books to buy to find out more?

Thanks in advance

Hello Ebusitanus!

I can't tell much more other than that he recieved his German Cross in Gold (DKiG) on 03.06.1943 and that he was posthumously promoted to Oberstleutnant. Source is Veit Scherzer's "Ritterkreuzträger 1939-1945". He was apparently killed on the very same day that he recieved his Oakleaves. I suppose that you already have this photograph of him, a photograph that surely must be the last ever taken of Geisler...
