Request for Biographic Sketch on Several Cmdrs

Post by Stephan H. » Thu Jun 18, 2009 3:25 am

I'm trying to locate some sources for basic biographic outlines, to include major awards, service assignments, and perhaps postwar activity for the following commanders:

1. Walther Wenck - CMDR 12.Armee April 1945
2. Theodore Busse - CMDR 9.Armee March-April 1945
3. Felix Steiner - CMDR Armeegruppe Steiner - April 1945

I would like to include this information in the appendix of my next book. Steiner, I expect, will be the easier of the three to track down.

I tried using the "Officer Biographies" search function off Feldgrau's homepage but found the link dosen't work??

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Stephan

The last photos of Steiner show a ribbon bar with nine ribbons. The awards listed do not total nine.

Here is what I have - who can help me?

EKII 1914 with 1939 Spange
Ostfront
Ehrenkreuz
Anschluss
Sudetenland mit Prager Burg
Slovakia - Siegreichen Kriegskreuz
Finland - Freedom Cross with device
Unknown
Unknown

He was eligiable fot the Heer 4-year and the SS 8-year ribbons. The SS 4-year is pictured in earlier photos with 25 mm sew-on ribbons.

Who can help me here?
