SS-Stubaf Werner Poetschke...

Post by John M. Donovan »

Hello,
I am looking for pictures of SS-Sturmbannfueher Werner Poetschke, the commander of I/SS-Pz.Rgt1...I have found several in Patrick Agte's book on Jochen Peiper, but I am still looking for more. If anyone can point me to any reference material, has any originals etc. Please let me know. Many Thanks in Advance,
John

Everything I have is from his time with "Das Reich," 1-2 are in "Knight's of Steel" and others I'll place with his bio in vol. 2 of my GC in Gold series.

Best

Mark,
Do any of the "new" photo's of Werner show him wearing his EK I. The reason I ask is I own one of his EK I's, the family kept the other and I am desperately trying to find a photo of him wearing this one. I have located one photo which appears to show him wearing the EK I that I have, but unfortunately it's just not sharp enough. Thanks, John

John,

I don't know if you have been to http://www.geocities.com/wolfram55/index.html

But, you might want to go there. If you can't find anything on the site, ask the webmaster, and/or post on the forum (under Guestbook).

Hope this helps.
