Hello again!

The only facts that I found after some searching on the Net is a Major Gomille that commanded the heavy (Tigers) III./Pz.Rgt. "GD" between June 1943 and April 1944. No explanation why he left this command in April 1944. Maybe someone with axcess to more specialized sources on GD might find something. I was thinking on the three volume series by Helmuth Spaeter. Anyhow, here's some sources that I found, and the second one contains a lengthy report written by Major Gomille on August 31, 1943. I do hope it's the same Gomille...

Btw, Herbert Gomille recieved the German Cross in Gold on 14.02.1942 as a Hauptmann commanding 5./Pz.Rgt. 4.

Hello to all ; a little complement (did not found a picture of him here)..................

Herbert Gomille!

Gomille held the rank of Hauptmann and in September 1942 he was commander of the II. / PR 4 of 13.Pz Div when in a furious battle against Soviet tanks, together with Hauptmann Barth who commanded the 1. / Pz. Jg.Abt. 13, managed to destroy as many as 33 enemy tanks in three days.
