White Star on German Units in Sciliy

Post by 2311Marine »

I have an old Squadron/Signal book that shows a couple of SdKfz 231's with a White Star in the Right Front corner as you look at them. The caption stated that there was some confusion as to wether the Hermann Goring Panzer Division or the 15th PanzerGrenadier Division used it while in the Scilian Campaign.

Has that confusion been resolved?

Yes, I think so. It is in favour of the 15. PGD

White Star

Post by Vicgonz »

In Panzer Colors ( number I i think) appears the white star as symbol of 15 Pzgrd div. The confusion with HG is because both units fought intermingly in little Kampfgruppen. The white star shows in his center a letter ( in black) i.e. F for Oberst Fullriede, E for Oberst Ens, etc
