Interesting! Here's another one:
TESSIN, Georg. 01.09.43 promo to Hptm.(Kr.O.). 01.02.45 Hptm. and Zugführer in 11.(schw.Flugm.Leit-Kp.)/Ln.-Rgt. 232. He held the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse and the Kriegsverdienstkreuz m. Schw. 2. Georg Tessin was born 16 June 1899 in Rostock and died 18 October 1985 in Koblenz. He received his Ph.D. in 1922 after submitting his dissertation, "Die Geschichte des mecklenburgischen Militärwesens 1648-1718." He was was called up in August 1939 and served in the Flugmeldedienst. Captured by the British at the end of the war in the Hamburg area, he made his way to his family in Schwerin after release. A short time later he was arrested by the Russians and spent the next three years in concentration camps in Neubrandenburg and Frankfurt/O.; in his own words: "A living death with no news from the outside."
His 3-page obituary written by Brün Meyer, his colleague, friend and a long-time archivist at BA-MA Freiburg, can be found in Der Archivar, Jahrgang 39, 1986, Heft 3, pages 405-06, along with a list of the many books he wrote.
