Maybe Florian Berger's book about Ritterkreuzträger who received the Nahkampfspange in gold would help?
Always in need for info about: Dutchmen in the NSKK, HJ and TeNo.

Ritterkreuzträger mit Nahkampfspange in Gold by Florian Berger, costs €35 excl. shipping. For sale at Amazone, ebay, etc.

And yes, the Waagtoren is still here, so is the Cheesemarket (which I never visit, in fact, I live just outside the centre and can see the Waagtoren). ALkmaar isn't that small as it was in 1971. The city has grown... A lot of new houses, all ugly as hell. I love my house, it was built in 1940  .
