1. The divisional symbol of the 100. Le. ID (later Jägerdivision)
The combination of the letter "S" with the symbol of the fir-tree (german: Tanne) is an encoding of the name of the first divisional commander Werner Sanne.
(S + Tanne = Sanne).
2. OoB:
Infanterie Regiment 54: detached from the 18 ID on Dec 01 1940 when it was motorizad.
Infanterie Regiment 227: organizad on Dec 10 1940 (12º Wave) with the Staff and III./ IR 130 and parts of the IR 133 and IR 135 (45 ID).
Artillerie Regiment 83: organizad on Dec 10 1940 with the Staff of AR 178 and parts of AR 98, AR 99, AR 18 and AR 61.

3. Its Commanding Officer.
Generalleutnant Werner Sanne was the first commander of the 100. Le. ID (Jägerdivision) from the 10th December 1940 – 31st January 1943.
Knight's Cross: 22.02.1942
He died in Russian war captivity on the 26th of September 1952 in the POW camp Krasnopdic, Russia
