StuG in Jager division
I know Jager Division had received StuG assault gun. I would like to know the deployment of StuG is standard equipment in German Jager Division ?

Kelvin,
I don't know if I understand your question correctly, but the Jäger-Division of the Type 44 had the same kind of Panzerjäger-Abteilung like the Infanterie-Division 44 and the Gebirgs-Division 44.
There were 4 official versions for that Panzerjäger-Abteilung, with the 2. Ausführung being the most standard if you could call it so.
It had besides the Abteilungsstab und Stabskompanie a 1. Panzerjäger-Kompanie (mot Z) with towed 7,5 cm AT guns, the 2. Kompanie was the Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung (later in October 1944 these Abteilungen were again renamed and became Kompanien again), the 3. Kompanie was the Fliegerabwehr-Kompanie. Depending on the mission, the area and what was ordered by the Org.Abt., such a Fla-Kp. was either a regular 2 cm Fla-Kp. (Sf.), a 3,7 cm Fla-Kp. (mot/Sf.) or a Gebirgs-Fla-Kompanie.
"Standard" is not a word you could use for the german army in WW2. Even with standard organizations such as the Infanterie-Division 44, there were still too many different options.
In the case of the Jäger-Divisionen, there was a Flachland and a Hochland version.
It could drive you crazy

Re: StuG in Jager division
I'm looking for this sort of data for 42. and 114. JD and for 65. ID. Do you know where could I find them?
Re: StuG in Jager division
All were units in Italy, I suppose that infantry units in Italy did not need to equip with StuG, mostly StuG equipped units were on Eastern Front.

Re: StuG in Jager division
A search revealed that 339 ID, HuD Div and 26 PD all had Semovente in Italy.

Re: StuG in Jager division
Lupo/Kelvin, Sorry a typo by me it was 336 ID ! Just two of the results from the search to keep you going. I just did "German Units with Semovente" in the search on AHF.

Re: StuG in Jager division
Hi, Alan, I am afraid you made a typo mistake again 336. infanterie division fought in the Eastern Front and was destroyed in Crimea in May 1944 and never rebuilt. In Italy, there were four 3XX infanterie divisions : 305, 334,356 and 362, so maybe you mean 334 or 356Alanmccoubrey wrote:Lupo/Kelvin, Sorry a typo by me it was 336 ID ! Re: StuG in Jager division
Kelvin, I did say that I was only giving you a couple of the results so if you're not going to do your own search then I'll have to do it for you ! It says 336 in the link so I just repeated it, argue with the poster on the link.
