I must really admit that this news are a shock for me , we puzzled together so many stuff here and on AHF that I already took him as a "unreplacable" member !

I am also so shocked to hear this. I don't think there is one person on this forum that Ron did not help including me. I couldn't believe it when I read it. I hope he finds peace. May prayers go to his family. He will so be missed on this forum.

I've just stumbled across this thread. I am very upset, Ron was really kind to me & helped me a lot.
God rest his soul.
Many condolenses to his relatives.

Would a P.M to his bereaved relatives be out of order?
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks. Dave.

Dave, I don't think a PM would be out of line at all. I just hope they come back and read this thread, and discover just how much he meant to us.

Terribly sad news.......especially for his family.

For those of us who trawl the WW II discussion boards daily, Ron was a familiar name and a fellow respected and admired for his knowledge and willingness to help others. He will be missed by many.

Does anyone know how old he was? My impression was that he might have been in the 45 to 55 range, which is far too young to pass on.

My sincere condolences to his family, should any of them read this.

I don't know how old he was Lorenz, but he seemed much too wise to be as young as your estimates! :D
Thanks. Dave.

I'll add my regrets. I've got tons of OOB stuff I'd wanted for ages from Ron taking time to answer questions in great detail.

Always friendly and helpful - not a bad epitaph for a man.

Ron was one of the most kind and caring individuals that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

He had a heart of gold, as so many of us on these forums can attest to.

RIP my friend. You are missed by many.

Very sad news indeed. A very helpful man that always shared his huge and detailed knowledge with other members. He will be greatly missed here on Feldgrau and other forums.
