You're welcome, Indeed, according to my sources just a handful were assigned to parental units. Keilig's das Deutsche Heer might be a bit outdated, but has excellent charts, with regiments listed, batallions listed, even in some case kompanies listed, It really makes for easy searching. regards eric

Marc and Abwehr, thnks for your info. Maybe I shouldn't doubt anything, but to Abwehr: Are you really sure? I've also got a list of all the KC-holders and there are no Scharführer in this list, just Unter- Ober and Hauptscharführer. It might just be a conincidence, but it let me to believe that the ...

Erich Pohl also received the award as a Leutnant on 5-2-1945. Is his rank correct? He server in SS- Panzerregiment 12. And if his rank his correct ( ie. a Heer...

I managed to find out that the unit was fighting in Kurland in 1945. The 6th Kurland battle took place around the date of his award.

I could'nt find any more specific information. I hope somebody else can help you with that..

no I am sorry.

Both of my sources do not list the reason why soldiers received the award.

if you could tell me where s pz abt 510 was stationed/fighting around that time, then i could take a look at my other books. He might be mentioned in one of them
