Partisanenbekaempfungs-Staffel
I am looking for as much data on the first anti-partisan squadron established on 11 March 1942. I know it was based at Bobruisk, reported to the VIII Air Corps, participated in Operation "Munich" (effort to clear the Yelnya-Dorogobuzh area of partisans) and included at least 4 JU-88s. An O...

Re: Pi 112
Thanks! I really dont know if they will do anything with it, they still have not gone to the 2,000 plus graveyard I found on aerial photos in Belgorod, but at least they have that option. They just found this one too... not with air photos though! Kassel, 15. Juli 2008 Soldatengräber unter dem Fußba...

Re: Pi 112
I never doubt an expert opinion/information, just was wondering about Nafziger. Too bad some of that data is incorrect. I ask because I recently discovered a graveyard from a few handheld photos and aerial photos in Bolchow with several graves from members of that battalion, and I need to be sure be...

Re: Pi 112
Thanks much, my German is poor but I get the basic idea of where they were in 1942/43. According to Nafziger the Divisonal battalion for the 112th Infantry Division (as of Dec 1941) was the 238th (mot) Pioneer Battalion. So I am a little confused still.

Re: Buffel
Indeed there seems to be a great deal of maps, overlays, orders, plans, and more on Büffel, which took place beginning on 3 March 1943 based on my research of records from divisions up to AG Mitte. I am surprised nothing was written on this though as this operation freed up a good deal of units for ...

Are there any books in English covering Operation Buffel, the pullout from the Rzhev area?

Re: German situation maps on this site
There aren't any sets specific to AG Nord (some AG Kurland ones) but there is a special map book that AG Nord made covering 1943. It coveres many aspects and is one of the best map sets I have come across. It is held in various places, 1 book at NARA (they dont allow book scanning), 1 microfilm copy...

Re: Halder Diary
The version I have was the US Government/Allied translation right after the war (I am not doing this..it was done 65ish years ago). It appears it was translated and written with 3 years of the war, so it is virtual WWII era. As anyone can post the NARA material, there is no copyright on that version...

Halder Diary
I came across the original US government translation of the Halder Diary (7 vols), and began to copy them. My intent was to put them online, but see that there was a book published in 1988 of them. So as not to break any (US) copyright laws, I assume as they were US government property when confisca...

Re: Molochansk Ukraine/ molochna river
Richard- Back to your original post - It is probable this area was covered by German aerial recon in 1941. I will take a look during my next trip to NARA to see if indeed there are any aerial photos of this area and let you know. I am pretty sure it was covered later in the 1943/44 if those are of i...

Any Interest In these Russia City Maps?
All- I am curious to know if there is interest in adding a map set of several city maps I have acquired and scanned in at high quality :?: . There are several very good ones including a Stalingrad map from October 1942 showing the Soviet defenses down to artillery positions in the southern part of t...
