Walking around in an original uniform of the Waffen-SS is NOT very funny to me, Bill. Did you ever try this here in Germany, I bet not, you would get arrested for this here, in the former homeland of the Waffen-SS. I do not find the right words, I am ashamed about persons like you. Knox * Did you e...

Hi Andre, It should be noted that some 300 POW´s applied to join the BFC. (Some of these were sent by POW groups to gain information for British intellegence). From the 300, only 60 were considered for further training between 1943 to 1945. There was never more than about 27 at any one time, there b...

I was surprised by how offensive I found the pictures of Bill in his BFC uniform. Once I calmed down, I realised that maybe that's how some people in other countries feel about collaboration in their own lands, so maybe I've learned something. If you wish to find out more about the history of the B...

I've been looking for a copy of "Kampfgeschwader Lutzow" for ages. It tells the story of a Heinkel III unit in Poland 1939. That is a great film, I like the bit when the new squadron commander joins the unit and addresses the squadron on parade. The cossack choir is very good too. What ab...

Bill, do have a copy of Kolberg on DVD that you could copy? I';ve been trying to get it for years. Sorry, I do not have a personal copy, I saw it on German TV twice, last year and a few years ago. I am looking for it on DVD, it does exist as DVD, but I have not found the source as yet. Cheers, Bill.

I would like to add..... My impression of the BFC was done because I had the tunic in my collection and wanted to wear it for an event, having NEVER worn it in public. I have reenacted Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Waffen-SS and British Light Infantry during 30 years of reenacting. But as BFC I ha...

A village in belgium comes under "German" occupation for a weekend once a year, we walk around in German uniform on the saturday, and on the Sunday the Americans arrive and take us all prisoner. It is authorized by the town and a professor from the school. The German unit is the "Hohe...

ummmm.... like 'Der Untergang'? No, I mean movies that were made during the war, rather than after it. My favorite one has to be "Kolberg" Set in 1813, made in colour and released in January 1945. A copy was sent to surrounded troops fighting on the French Atlantic coast, it was sent in b...

Stefan says dont talk to "forum-resident Nazis", who might they be Stefan?

This would seem to be your standard answer when you disagree with someone, to call them a Nazi.

Hi Jez,
I really do miss the Fish and Chip shops, one of the things I must put up with living in Germany :(

Anyway, get me a portion of chips and a mince beef pie, I will pay you later, or treat you to a pint of Ale at St.Austell Brewery (where I used to work).

Cheers,Bill. :D
