Vorhandwerker ?

Hello !
I rec'd a letter from the wife of a former panzer soldier. She told me her husband was an "Obergefreiter und Vorhandwerker".
Can anyone help clarify what this position might have been ? He served in the Stabskompanie / 505.

Thanks !

Heer Kriegsberichter - Dr. Wacker ?

Hello experts -- I am trying to find information that might ultimately lead me to a Kriegsberichter named Dr. Wacker...I am not 100% sure of the name - it might be a version of the real name - I have a diary from a Heer Tiger veteran. Shortly after "Citadelle" this kriegsberichter (maybe n...

Re: Sledgehammers

Hello Matt -- There are some excellent Tiger books out there -- books that cover all the abteilungen with key dates / info etc. and there are good picture books / the best in my opinion are the unit histories like 503, 507, 508 and Carius' covering much of 502... I have helped a few Tiger veterans w...

Re: Feldgrau Author - Dale R. Ritter

Hello --
This one is about 62,000 words -- more text than the previous (Kronke) volume - less photos. I will post more when I have the proofs - then I will have a page count for you.
Thanks for asking --
