Re: Out-of-print book updates
Not a "vandetta" but my apology for missing the recent post after some 6 years waiting.
And "Das Reich" still incomplete after 18 years since volume 1 released. A bit "much."

Re: Out-of-print book updates
Before he reprints, would be nice if Fedorowicz first finished "Das Reich" and Polizei Division. One has already taken longer than it took Weidinger to write. The other has already been long enough since volume 1, time to finish the 2nd volume.

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger
Korea is correct, but they still shut down for the Chinese New Year. My mistake.

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger
"German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police" Volume 4 (SS Cavalry) is now at the printer. The book is printed in Korea and as all know, the entire country basically shuts down for 2 weeks in January for the Chinese New Year. I'll add a note when the books arrive in the USA. Below is...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
Raymond I believe a number of your points, contacting those who have had books published with a potential publisher, multiple publisher submissions, free copies, editing facets, certain royalty specifics or pitfalls to avoid, were already mentioned. Regards contacting those who already worked with a...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
Thanks for the info. As I said, a text OR illustrations limit (documents or photos with extended captions) would be a negative for me in selecting a publisher. I'm not familiar with the mentioned book, but I forgot to mention I also prefer hardbound projects. For general comparing of various project...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
Due to both their retail cost and narrow subject market, I know none of my books has sold 10,000 copies. However, for me personally, a restriction on word or photo count would only allow me to do a book in part of the detail I'm capable of or want. For what I want to do, its better for me to be comp...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
While I don't have details on every publisher, the clause to demand next book must be thought over with care. Especially by 1st time writers who are simply eager to have their book done and don't appreciate the possible negative aspects of the clause. One odd point mentioned I had not heard of previ...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
Anyone can try a number of publishers based on their products or whatever other factors matter most to the author. The university publishers generally require a degree to publish an author. Rather stupid as many "academic" authors are clueless on a topic and many "hobby" writers ...

Re: Negotiating the Most Favorable Terms with Publishers
Some publishers have so many hidden clauses in their standard contract I'd suggest a lawyer read it so you fully understand what you're signing. Some of these I've seen include: Saying you get a given royality (say 10% each of cover price), but in reality if a book seller/buyer is overseas, its cut ...

Re: Bloody Streets: The Soviet Assault on Berlin, April 1945
I ordered Stephan's book for the research and its text. My primary interest with any book and obviously a lot of time, sources, research, etc went into the book. That makes it of value to me on its own.

Re: Bloody Streets: The Soviet Assault on Berlin, April 1945
There is a MAJOR difference between poor photo quality due to uncoated paper, poor original photos (or prints or scans) used, etc, and some publishers who over enlarge every photo to the point of a distorted image simply to make it a full page photo (therefore increasing the page count and charging ...
