David,

I have checked for each unit of the 3rd Indian Motor Brigade. Every source I have is showing that all three of the regiments of this brigade left India in January 41 and arrived together as a brigade at the same time in Egypt in the first week of March 41.

David, Read the link I sent you earlier. They embarked for Egypt in early February 1941, they were the Land Force of MNBDO 1. They were however were not sent to Crete as some other units of the organization were. I saw something somewhere as to why they were not sent. They were used in the raid I to...

David, I found some additional info. I was on another forum and decided to throw this question out about the 11 RM. Mark Bevis, the author of BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH ARMIES 1939-1943, sent me a reply. He sent me some info on the 11 RM and some info on his book, turns out he has written a series of ...

David, I did more hunting. That link I gave you mentioned that in April 42 a hundred men of all ranks of the 11RM conducted a raid on Kupho Nisis island near Crete. From my hunt I found that it was a company of the 11 RM was involved in that raid. While 400 men with detachements may seem a low numbe...

David, I do not think a normal RM battalion would have only two companies, I think the norm was 4 rifle companies and a HQ company. Do you have something that says only two companies were present at Tobruk? You know after thinking about it 400 men does seem a rather small number. I know around 1942 ...

David, We meet over here again! For what it is worth HMSO Playfair's The Mediterranean and the Middle East only mentions this unit once, and only in in Volume 4, in reference to Operation Agreement. This unit is listed as Force A: 11 Battalion Royal Marines along with dets of RA, RE, RSigs, RAMC. Th...

Michael, Thank you very much for that info! Sounds like you guys really did your homework on those. Looks like I will be investing in a few of their games in the very near future. I am curious, do you think that HPS might ever come up with 2nd editions of games for which more accurate info has been ...

From what I understand Decision Games is coming out with a 2nd edition of the SPI game Campaign For North Africa. They have Richard Berg working on it. I know it will be expensive but I am very interested in seeing it come out.

Nick, Awhile back I read a book called "Rommel's Greatest Victory: The Desert Fox and the Fall of Tobruk, Spring 1942" I seem to recall it mentioned the names of the commanders of many of the units involved in the Gazala battles. I know there was a reference to KG Hecker, and I think you d...

David, No actually I read everything that is posted over there and am learning new things all the time. I just have not been able to contribute much in the way of new info to the discussions. I will jump in whenever I feel I might have something new to contribute. As far as wargames go where do your...

David-I thought that was you! Hitler's Last Gamble (3W) is a regiment/battalion level game. Let me give you an idea of the scale. Infantry units: most are regimental or brigade (British) in size except for a very few battalions Armor units: The US Armor Combat Command and British armor units are bri...

Wacht Am Rhein 2nd Edition by Decision Games. Does anyone have this game? Is it much different from the 1st addition by SPI?

Thanks
