If you get the Junger book, get the earliest version you can find.Later editions were adjusted to better suit the times. ---bil

No,that happens sometimes.Mostly in older posts.I am moderator on a mg42 forum, and this happens randomly when we do an update. We usually as the original poster if they will re-post,or if I have saved the pic I put it back up.There may be other reasons I am not aware of. ---bil

Then digitalizing a photo would also produce a 'fake'-with true film, there is information stored that is either there or not.In a good, clear black and white photo much detail can be brought up in the developement process,or by enlarging. If you enlarge a digitalised photo, you will eventually end up w...

Re: books on german tactics
Panzer Tactics-A large size book, soft cover, readily availlable.I feel it is well worth getting, many reproductions of drawings from the original German manual, what to do and what not to do in a given situation i.e. how to set up for a river crossing, where to place vehicles for maximum tactical use,wh...

Thanks for the pics.I especially enjoyed the mortar squad. The photo is very clear, and there seem to be many pics of a MG squad with gear stowed, but not many mortar ones.Neither is a job I would envy,I have carried a lafette that way, extremely heavy! ---bil

Does this aversion also apply to Civil War and Revolutionary re-enactors?Some of them are billed as 'living history' re-enactors and provide a look at how the soldiers really lived then.Without actually shooting each othert,of course.I have no dog in this fight,I collect books, and the guns minus sol...

Re: Review: The Last Knight of Flanders
I just finished the book, the review above is quite accurate.Much of it was put together from memories of the members and correspondence through the years with Schrejnen himself. It does jump around a bit,but otherwise is well written. It also describes the diferance between the various factions in Bel...
