Jews and Slavs in propaganda

I have to admit that I had a great problem to choose a good place (section) to post this topic, and this one isn't good as well. But. I have a very specific question, I'd be gracious for an exact answer. In terms of German Propaganda (with capital "P", influencing on all aspects of life) J...

Re: Belarussian/Ukrainian/Russian Volunteers in Wehrmacht etc.

Well... no!
I finished it some time ago and passed my exam (4,5 - could've been worse).
But, still, it needs a lot of improvements before it's available anywhere.
I can e-mail it to You, if You wish (I still should have your address somewhere).

Thanks for the hint, Michał!
I'll keep looking! My writing on this topic is over, nevertheless, I think that I'll keep investigating it.

Re: Poles passage to Britain

Many Polish soldiers in west was former wehrmacht soldiers. Remember that over 200 000 Poles were forced to serve in German army. Of course. In many sources are mentioned Polish soldiers of "Silesian origin", surrendered in Italy and later incorporated into Polish Army. I remember a sourc...

Re: Did you know....?

Quite a big storm it caused, don't you think? It's nice, that FINALLY someone appreciated our little contribution to the beginning of the war. The author only forgot to mention OUR battlecruiser - ORP "Pomorze Polskie" (ORP "Polish Pommern") - firing upon Kiel 2hrs before the inv...

Re: Belarussian/Ukrainian/Russian Volunteers in Wehrmacht etc.

I think your draft topic should be against Communism not against Russia and certainly not against Poland. My topic is formed like that due to examination requirements - we spend this subject disputing about how important was the influence of Poland and Russia (and from time to time - Lithuania, Jew...

Re: Belarussian/Ukrainian/Russian Volunteers in Wehrmacht etc.

Well. I did some research (Thanks for your help!) and... Hm. Te case of SS-Galizien and ROA in Warsaw Rising are more than complicated, Nino :] For example: Germans seemed not to want to make SS-Galizien an "Ukrainian" unit, but rather a "Galizisch" - soldiers of this were forbid...

Re: Belarussian/Ukrainian/Russian Volunteers in Wehrmacht etc.

Thanks! I have to admit to having used - among other sources - Chris Bishop's book on foreign SS-units, but he tends to write about the "citizens of USSR" all the time, without any differing (maybe but for Cossacks). Another question: WWS ROA - Air arm of Vlassov's forces. I how possible i...

Re: Luftwaffe “Kamikaze” attacks

Heinz Knokke in his book I Flew for the Führer describes the tactic you've mentioned on pages 97f (in Polish edition - maybe it'd be easier for You to find this by dates). They came across and idea - 28 II 1943. He "bombed down" his first bomber - 22 III 1943. Group attack with bombs - 17 ...

Belarussian/Ukrainian/Russian Volunteers in Wehrmacht etc.

Hi to all. I'm writing an annual work in order to fulfil the examination requirements of one of my subjects. It's draft topic is: "Against Russia, Against Poland - Belarussian, Ukrainian and Russian volunteers in WWII German Army". Schwerpoint of this work is put onto national identity of ...

Officers' marking

Officers in Wehrmacht used to have "callsigns", like IA - Chief of Staff and so on.
My question would be:
Had an officer "for special assignments" his own marking/callsign or he was to special to have one?
