I agree with Marko, that looks to be Malkomes in the lower photo, and obviously it shows an SS-Panzer unit. The upper photo, and your mention of destroyed T-34s, reminds me of some still photos I have seen of SS-Fallschirmjäger Bataillon 600 from the fighting at Schwedt and then Zheden along the Ode...

Hi Mark and the other members, I can tell you all right now that you can get information on the book club at http://www.militarybookclub.com A search for the title or my name should bring up the book. As to the OOB details, they are simply lists of the corps with directly subordinate units (signal, ...

As Mark indicated, many unit insignia were postwar creations, used to represent the various veterans' groups. Only some were authentic wartime insignia, and few of those ever appeared on a shield during the war (though I have seen photos of LAH and Wiking insignia within shields). Harzer pioneered t...

Chris is right about the cutouts, though these full shields are a postwar development, probably by the HIAG. Nachtrage zu dem Truppengeschichte collects additional articles and photos that Tieke didn't have available when he prepared Tragodie um die Treue. The English translation Tragedy of the Faithful combines both Tieke works into one hardcover volume. Swedish/Spanish researcher (Sten-) Erik Norling con...

1. Favorite units : Nordland and Nederland. And parent Wiking, of course. 2. Joachim Zeigler and Matthias Kleinheisterkamp both seem to be extemely dedicated and talented commanders who have received little recognition. 3. Harald Nugiseks' wartime bravery is well documented, and I am happy that he i...

Adamczyk's book
Rohrbach, There was some trouble distributing the last few hundred copies of Feuer, but Tom Pettys at the Aberdeen Bookstore bought up a whole bunch, and still has some for sale at reasonable prices, the last I knew. So I would check at http://www.aberdeenbookstore.com to see about the availability....
