Andrrei Andreevich Vlasov was never a prisioner of the USA. He was taken as a POW by the Soviets and executed in Moscow shortly after the war. For research, start with "Soviet Opposition To Stalin" by George Fischer, 1952.

I am reading "Hitler's Volksturm" by David K. Yelton. He mentions that there were 336 Landesschutzen Battalions of which 86 were involved in frontline service. Does anyone have a listing of all 336 battalions? Thanks.

I am also interested in these two units. The only info I have is that Col. Friedrich von Hake commanded the division as part of 41.Pzkorps, 12.Armee.

Have you tried "Die Grenadier Division der Waffen-SS",Teil 3, by Rolf Michaelis, 1995. He has several chapters on the 34.SS Division; including a regimental command listing of the 83rd.
