Can you tell me please how this book differs from Mark Healy's excellent Zitadelle that was released a few years ago (in hardback) and already dispelled the myth of Prokhorovkha and German tank strength/losses? Does it go into greater depth (I haven't read any of Nipe's work before)?

I look forward to the English releases. I have a zweitschrift Wehrpass to Oberleutnant Otto Carstens of Stab/20 Pz.Gren.Div who served with the division from August 1939 to his death in January 1945.

Well, he says around November so it could of been December. But I have no idea what he weather was like in December 1944 in that region but if your father remembers it and that is all you have to go on then there is no reason to doubt him.
