Interviewing Vets...

Interviewing vets... what to ask and what not to ask?

because it's something that I intend to do sometime, I might as well get prepared. what kind of questions do any vets dislike being asked? what should i always ask them (the essential info?)?

cheers,

there is a dotted line separating the two halves of the dogtag, right? well, i heard that if you were KIA, a comrade would break the dogtag along this line, and take one half to confirm/identify who was killed and bury the other half with the body.

can someone confirm or correct this?

pickelhaube: a better weapon than a hat?

my history teacher claimed that the spike on the pickelhaube was designed to be used as a CQB weapon... but that's total bull. but hey, was it ever used as such?

surprises?

well, if i follow correctly, the creation of the Verboten section had nothing to do with my suggestion (but I can't say for sure, but i can say that it's not really of importance) , but i suppose it all could fit there.

cheers to you, sir!

haha! retired? other side of the spectrum, 16 (i think...) years of age and bored to tears. okay, not really. but anyhoo, it would be a plus if i could get a summer job that would involve WW2ish history since doing something that you hate day in, day out is a royal drag (but that won't get me out of...

Diefenbaker was PC (now just Conservative) and Pearson was a liberal. not that i knew that offhand, i wasn't born yet back then. it rained today, actually. and there's too much snow. and the Sens seem to be on a suckage spree now, last game we lost 3 to 2. and they made some sort of a trade to end t...
