Re: Battle at Mokra,Poland

Yep, it's from Schäufler, pp.15-22.
Thanks Richard for confirming it.

Then I would like to see the post-war version - just to compare one with another  .

Do you know where it is possible to get it?

Re: Ruszki & Kiernozia Poland 1939 - Panzers crushed by infantry

Hi Klaus_Arzt, Thanks very much for comment  btw do you happen to have any info on the Battle of Szack? Yes - I have some info on it - what do you need  ? But I think that we can make a new thread to talk about it. If it comes to the battles of Ruszki and Kiernozia again - I found such a...

Re: Battle at Mokra,Poland

I think it is one of those accounts you mentioned - however - I'm not shure which one. The one which was written after the war was over, or the one which is in Schaufler book (most probably it is the second one). Anyway - I didn't use the book by Schaufler. One of users of the Polish WW2 forum on wh...

Re: Battle at Mokra,Poland

If it comes to the Polish casualties in the battle of Mokra, the most commonly given figure is: 216 KIA and MIA soldiers and NCOs, 5 KIA and MIA officers = 221 270 WIA soldiers and NCOs, 22 WIA officers = 292 Total: 513 men But according to some other sources only 62 Poles were KIA during the Battle...

Re: German Army 1st september 1939

Hi ericv!, Thanks for info - it is very useful for me  . By the way - according to: "Heeres - einteilung 1939" by F.Stahl - on 1st of March 1939: IR 44 - Oberst Eberhardt I - Obsltn. Heisig II - Maj. Schipp von Branitz III - Obsltn. Wagner His succesor was Oberstleutnant Wagner (prev...

Re: German Army 1st september 1939

It seems that both Sudau and Krawutschke were not the commanders of the regiment in period 1st of September - 12th of September 1939. Sudau was most probably the commander of I./IR.44 battalion, and on 12th of September he replaced the previous "mysterious commander" of the regiment. There...

The same tank after transporting it to Sochaczew (it was staying there at least untill winter of 1939 / 1940):

Sochaczew - Towarowa street - to be more accurate.

Ruszki & Kiernozia Poland 1939 - Panzers crushed by infantry

Both battles - battle of Ruszki and battle of Kiernozia - took place during the battle of Bzura, during the failed German massive Panzer attack on the Polish forces. In the battle of Ruszki Panzer-Regiment 35. was defeated. The regiment suffered heavy casualties in the previous battles. When the bat...

Re: Battle at Mokra,Poland

Wołyńska Cavalry Brigade eliminated around 80 - 90 German tanks during the battle of Mokra, more than 20 of them - most probably around 25 - 30 of them (including 14 in Panzer-Regiment 35. - according to Oberstleutnant Eberbach) - were "Totalshaden". I don't have any exact data about casua...

Re: German Army 1st september 1939

Hi all!, ..11. Infanteriedivision ... IR 44 Kdr : Oberst Karl Klein I. : Major Erich Sudau II. : Major Schipp von Branitz (?) III. : Oberstleutnant Gustav Wagner I think that there is a mistake - according to "Lexikon der Wehrmacht" it was Major Krawutschke who was the commander of I./Infa...
