Re: Axis soldiers shot by Western Allies for sabotage 1940-1947

That was an action of 'Wehrwolf', a small group ...

Re: I can read German, but this...

Thanks a lot! I had a laugh about the Seehund, I'm wondering where they shot this animal, they can't be found at the coast anymore. But since no one lived near the see in 1943, they might have returned or been there.

Nice he was writting about food.

Re: Maxium age for conscripts...

My grandfather was drafted in the spring of 1940, around april or may. He was born in august 1908, so he was 31 when he went to the army. He was a German btw and served in the Heer.

It takes a lot of patience indeed. Waiting up till one year is 'normal'.

Did you provide them place and date of birth? They will need it.

Re: Disappeared: Dutch NSKK-Mann in Italy

Thanks Panzermahn. I might add I got the books of Vincx. It contains some info about Dutch men serving in the NSKK, but in the end it isn't much. My own book about Dutchmen in the NSKK did it better  . My problem is that I didn't find much about Dutch volunteers who served in Italy or the...

Re: Disappeared: Dutch NSKK-Mann in Italy

His son, on his behalf I'm searching (again), did contact Bad Arolsen and the WASt too. That's the reason I want to check for Italian adresses. The story continues!

Disappeared: Dutch NSKK-Mann in Italy

Hello all, I'm trying to trace a Dutch NSKK-volunteer in Italy. His last sign of life is from 22th July 1944. He was in a Lazarett in Riva di Trento. He wrote to his parents he would soon return home and would quit his services for the NSKK (Speer). He never came home. Instead, the NSKK Speer Gronin...

Re: German medics in WW2

Hello All, I just received a letter from WASt and while it answers some questions, others remain. I wonder if someone would be so kind and help decipher some of the abbreviations please: 1.) Under Erkennungsmarken: 443 - San.Ers.Abt.2 , 7136 - 3.San.Ers.Abt.3 and Krankenkraftwagen-Zug 340 the latte...

Re: Werner Goering, the nephew of Luftwaffe chief Herman Goering

Great info! Thanks! BTW, WIlliam Patrick was during 1937 or 1938 in Germany. He wanted to visit his uncle and get a job from him. Hitler refused and the two only met once. William partied, drank and told everyone he was a familymember of Adolf. He was 'asked' to leave the country and never returned....
