I have no idea if the ribbon bar is period original to the tunic but as it was with it when I obtained the tunic I'll leave it there. Maybe a previous owner put any spare LW ribbon bar on (which is a pin back, not sewn on) just to fill up the loops. I do exactly the same when I need to fill the loop...

Seventy-three aircraft from KG 2, KG 40 & KG 6 were involved in raids on the Sunderland & South Shields area. 1./KG 2 & 5./KG 40 both lost Dornier Do-217's while 7./KG 6 lost a Ju-88.

Reading it and yes it's good - by far and away the best account on East Prussia and the 'Baltic Balcony' that exists in English; for serious military historians there are plenty of maps and details of unit movements and the like, for people like me there are masses of first-hand accounts.
