Walther Gerhold , the only enlisted man in the Kriegsmarine and in the Kleinkampfverbände who received the Ritterkreuz for actions previously mentioned in this thread, has passed away at age 101. The unit designation on the Identification Disc, [10./J.R. 334 (9?)] would indicate the 10th company of the 334th Jäger Regiment (Heer), only problem is that there were no 334th Jäger Regiment?! Anyhow, nothing on the Identification disc indicates any connection to the 7. SS-Freiwilligen...
