Re: Great Chart
Thanks. That chart is fantastic. Do you know what the dividing line would be between the Eastern and South-Eastern Front referenced in the chart? Greetings “lexxx”!! :D :D To the best of my memory, Ron and I transferred the HGrp. “F” 2nd Panzer Division units and the HGrp. “E” units to HGrp. “South...

Re: static infantry divisions
Greetings "MadDog" !! :D Hope the following is of some help - Between 1939 and 1943 the German standard infantry division contained three regiments with a total of nine rifle battalions. Each of the infantry regiments had, besides its twelve rifle and heavy weapons companies, a 13th (infan...

Re: LXXXVIII corps units, Holland 1944
Spring 1944 was a bad time to be in the German army. : ) Mad Dog "MadDog": That's an understatement !! :? Between 22 June and the end of August 1944, the Wehrmacht lost: HGrp. Mitte: 28 Divisions destroyed during Operation Bagration. OB West: 18 Divisions destroyed by the time of the surr...

Re: LXXXVIII corps units, Holland 1944
Maddog, There could be two very valid reasons for this 1) the 19. Panzer-Division was in a (very) bad shape and needed the rest 2) the situation on the eastern front was far worse because of the opening of Bagration. Piet Greetings “MadDog” !! :D As indicated by the data below it’s obvious that Ger...

Re: Staged/Modern Day Re-enactment?
I can't remember the unit, but IIRC, that's a Canadian outfit that does Kriegsmarine coastal arty. Damn !! The secret is out!! We're short on uniforms and equipment, here in Canada. for the troops in Afghanistan, so the Royal Canadian Artillery (here at home) have to use stuff we captured in 19444-...

Re: 148. Grenzschutz Regiment in 1939.
Also note that Gen.d.Inf. z.V. Max von Schenckendorf, commanded 10 Grenzschutzabschnitts-Kdo.-13 (of which 148 Grenz-Rgt was a part) until 25 Oct. 1939. On that date (one day before it was officially made part of the German Reich) he was made Kommandant of Posen/Poznan, as noted by my friend Doktor ...

Re: 148. Grenzschutz Regiment in 1939.
Thanks for answer Shadow. By the way, it's quite intresting that on 1. September the unit was attached to AOK 8 on the West and in ten-day period it has appeared in Poland... By 10 Sept. 1939, because of the surprising (even to the Germans) speed of the "Blitzkrieg", less effective combat...

Re: 148. Grenzschutz Regiment in 1939.
Greetings L.Gladysiak !! :D The only mention I can find for 148. Grenzschutz Regiment is on 01 Sept. 1939, when it was stationed on the Western Front. Unfortunately I can find no mention of it after this point. EIGHTH ARMY: [AOK 8]: AOK Reserves: I./Flak-Regt.-33 (gem.) I./Flak-Regt.-52 (gem.) PzJag...
