Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

Volume 5 of "German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police" is now with the publisher. A rather complicated primary unit due to multiple duplicate units for the Polizei Division and simultaneous Kampfgruppe resulted in the most expanded and detailed elements chapter of the series so fa...

Re: Out-of-print book updates

I see still no Das Reich vol. 5 (early 2009 on his site) and no Polizei Division volume 2 from Fedorowicz. If he finds them so low a profit compared to printing 20 books on Tiger tanks, give the rights to Schiffer or some other publisher who will finish before the owners of the first volume(s) are d...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

Sorry for slow reply, health issues have me up and down (and frustrated). Far as I know all the Schiffer and Bender titles are available, though no idea how many. I assume they're doing well as Schiffer has reprinted and Bender keeps publishing them :) Next in the German Cross series is another divi...

Re: "Tiger" by Rüdiger Warnick and Stephan Cazenave

John was kind enough to take the time to repair several important but damaged photos I had that I then used in several books. Without his help, they were not usable so the benefit was for everyone. I lacked not only the costly programs, but more importantly the experience and skills to do the work. ...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang

What are your future plans for other divisional (or regimental or other topic) books ? I'd like to have something on the mountain units (6th, 7th, 13th, 23rd) and finding material always seems difficult at best. Also something similar on the senior Allgemeine-SS units and commanders. If you do decid...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

I'm looking for a printable scan of smaller medal award certificates (Iron Cross, combat badges, Eastern Front Medal, etc) signed by the following General rank officers for my SS/Police German Cross in Gold series: Brenner, Globocnik, Harster, Jeckeln, Prützmann, Roesner, Schimana, Schmedes, and Wol...

Is this expanded beyond the material in the German Military Dictionary (1944 reprint) done by Lancer Militaria ? Been wearing out copies of that for years.

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

Marc Sorry to hear about the loss of your pet, for animal people nearly bad as losing a human. Like many, when my first had to be put down it came fast and unexpected and that makes it even worse. Mine lower stress and create calm, the opposite effect many people have. Ralph now has to be given thyr...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

Marc Thanks for your kind comment and glad you already got some use from the book for the Ia in question. I've always considered them important and overlooked, often being the tactical skill behind some fine commanders with leadership skills but with less formal military training. And then often act...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

My deepest thanks to all for their kind comments and support. The general scope of the series is obviously the German Cross holders of the SS and Police. Past books on KC holders or other biographical topic books always frustrated me with a lack of explanation. They give information without explaini...

Re: Books that need translating

Multiple publishers have this "coming soon, pay now" campaign, not just Monograhm. I assume wanting buyers to pay the bill before it's printed. That worked years ago but no longer. Some with a reords, as I said, of completing when they say I'll buy from. The Sammlung Vopersal is his collec...

Re: Books that need translating

Today's economy would be a factor (buying and money to print) Other publishers taking 10-15 or more years for a multi-volume history would deter some buyers. Others do part and "quit" so you're left with half a study. Permission is a major factor, it's more complicated than most would assu...

See above link for Bender's current titles that include both militaria collecting books and books on historical topics. You comment reagrds him only publishing collector oriented books is incorrect.

Re: Books that need translating

One or both of Felix Steiner's books, for the insight/opinions/thoughts of one of the more famous Waffen-SS Commanders.

You'll never see the multi-volume "Totenkopf" set translated, that was a missed chance a couple decades ago by an English language publisher.
