The trouble is as I understand it the US give Israel $4.5 billion a year....

Really they should cut out the middleman and do the job themselves.....

or tell them to behave themselves.

Israel's position in my eyes would be incontestable, if they weren't such evil bastards at home. They should get their own house in order...... howabout equal access rights to water, pulling out the settlers out of the occupied territories, allowing all the Palestinians who they drove out back home,...

Cheers Matt. Just stockpiling ammo..... but am getting more into it...... and finding it very interesting.... the myths regards they're vulnerability to infantry... read their electric transmission system was peculiarly vulnerable to mines.... myths that lack of MGs, whereas most SPG didn't have the...

Thanks for the skinny. As I understand from my wanderings on the web.... these Ferdinands were equipped with an MG34.... unfortunately not hull/co-axially mounted, so had to be used outside the TD. What I have read suggests that 89 Ferdinands were issued to 653 & 654, with one held back for test...

Cheers Chaps, I'm having a barney with a bloke who categorically states that some (unspecified mark/variant) Tiger I didn't have any MGs, whether it be hull mounted ot coaxial. Any pointers accepted... all the info I've seem suggests MGs.... but would be delighted to be proven wrong.... especially u...

Rich.... Thank you very much for the info.... I had unsuccessfully searched Hansard.... Much appreciated.... do you have an opinion on one of the bits you snipped. The WW1 debt..... apparently we were owed more than we owed the US.... so could you say that the debt was paid? by merely our debtors sw...

Tiger I's destroyed by Russian Infantry..

Does anyone know or care to share links that indicate instances or numbers of Tigers killed by Russian infantry (without heavy weapons)....

Basically a follow up to the premise that early Tigers had no MGs for infantry work.... is this correct?

Other odd ranks

When I was about 11, a kid at school told me his Dad was a Brigade Major. I gave him a bollocking as no such rank existed, as far as I was aware (may be a post tho'). Later on I discovered certain units had B-Ms attached to their HQs..... too late to apologise now.

The US were compelled to use A bombs on Japan. They had to force the Japanese to surrender as it would have been politically impossible to take the additional casualties required by assaulting the home islands....... By the time the US had achieved a bridgehead on Kyushu/Honshu, the Russians would h...
