Many Chinese served as laundrymen in the Navy... merchant and Royal.... so not too surprising..... bit unusual as they would be "enemy" combatants compelled to work.... totally not by the rules. However they could be from WeiHei We or Tsingtao? Just as numerous Africans lived and worked in...
