FM Ironside

Greetings "fiftysomething" - Welcome to Feldgrau! The only Field Marshall Ironside I'm aware of was British FM Lord William Ironside. He was promoted to that rank in 1940, the 107th person to be granted that rank. I wonder if FM Rommel was referring to him in some way? Hard to tell without...

Orbats

Greetings Helmut -
ORBATS is a slang term for Orders of Battle. Sorry about that - in future I'll stick to "Gliederung" as I believe this is the proper term?
Please correct me if I'm wrong - thanks much -
best regards -

I thought this Forum was about the German Wehrmacht and World War II? Opinions on internal politics, I think, should be voiced in other arenas!!
But, I'm a new member here at Feldgrau and could be mistaken!

Greetings Christoph -
Many thanks for the info on Heeresgruppe "E" (OB Southeast). The other Orbat I'm looking for is OB (not Heeresgruppe) South. Under GenFM (Lw) Kesselring this would later include Heeresgruppe "C" in Italy.
Again, thanks and best regards!

97th Jager Div / Regt

Both the 97th Jager Div and the 97th Regt of the 46th Infantry Div served in the Kuban with 17th Army, Army Group "A". 97th Jager Div consisted of the 204th and 207th Jager Regts - if this is any help.
