Hello Sid, if I remeber well some LW general was hanged by the Yugolsavs for the Belgrade bombing while other LW officiers like Milch were sentenced to prison for their activity by the Nurnberg judges. Nothing strange. I would put a black ball in the box if I had had the opportunity to trial Bomber ...

Hello Sid, I agree about the fact this debate is quite an unuseful one. The same Allied choice to close the eyes in front of Comrade Stalin invasion of Poland was yet discussed at will in this forum; the legal term of the British guarantee to Poland are, at best, subtle, but "any leader who con...

Hello Sid, your argoument is correct on the logical ground, but not on the field. Durign the war there were always double standards (No Allied represail, at least, against USSR when she invaded Poland in Sept. 1939 for example). The general mood of the time was that the air war was not a global one,...

Hello Gentlemen, let me agree 100% with Sid about the fact that real life is quite different from a wargame and the effect the pocket BBs had on the British and French naval strategy in 1939/1940. Let me propose you, anyway, a further wargame style question. How much do you believe would have been e...

Hy Philo,

it's quite in inverse. Any plane which is flying over a neutral country has the right to be shoot down without warning as he is the one who violated the convention.

Hello Sid, everything you wrote about the area bombing ,atter is correct. indeed. Anyway I believe it's quite difficoult to negate the fact RAF had a doctrine since 1918 (Boom Trenchard Indipendent Air Force ect.) and that Britain was the only power to follow it. The British only ordeder, since 1935...

The land is conquered by artillery and occupied or defended by infantry. Both are supplied from the sea. The aviators are only "air chaffeurs", like Mickey Mouse's friend Gloomy stated in 1935 when they were looking for the Pirate Submarine. The confirmation? Wher's the Afgan Air Force? Wh...

My German is little, but the sinking of Zulu by one direct hit delay action fuzed bomb on the side matches perfectly with the report by Capt. Zuccarini who, with his "wings" sergeant Boeri and Zanarini, attacked twice the enemy ships using, the second time, British bombs fuzed for this rig...

The idea of Heydrich as governor of France in 1942 is at best a debatable one. Northern France was under military governments, not Nazi ones and the situation between B-M and France were totally different. About the Jew extermination it's interesting to note that the large scale process, beyond the ...
