Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
In fact, the English version of "Totenkopf" is not a translation of the French book. There are a few more photos but the text is different. Due to translation costs, the English version is only a digest of the French one so it is less detailed.

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
Thanks a lot, John. I am trying to do my best !
The book is a pure divisional history with lots of dates, names of locations, orders of battle and officers listings. For very detailed biographies, Mark's book on the DKiG holders of the division should complete my work perfectly.

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
In most cases, as far as units at a higher level than the company are concerned, orders of battle and listings of officers (when known) are given. The main sources for the officers' listings were : - John P. Moore's Führerliste - Archiv Wolfgang Vopersal - Führerstellenbesetzungslisten (when availab...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
Volumes 1 to 3 of "Dictionnaire de la Waffen-SS" cover divisions 1 to 38. The first two volumes are rather photo albums as the divisions which are covered have been extensively treated in many publications. Their main interest is their great number of never before published photos. Volume ...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
The first volume of my series on the SS-Division "Wiking" has been released on Friday. It is a massive book of 456 pages in size A4 with about 750 photos and documents. This volume covers the period running from December 1940 to April 1942. A lot of well known authors have helped me by pro...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger
This is great news ! I am really eager to read them as soon as they are released. Mark's books are the best biographies ever published on Waffen-SS personalities thanks to their detailed and informative datas, and also thanks to the rare selected pictures that can't be seen nowhere else. Each previo...

Re: Albrecht (oktober 44- January 45)
I have an SS-Untersturmführer Fritz Albrecht who served in the 10th company of SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt.23 "Norge". Is it the same man ?

Hello Mark,
I have a good photo showing Laackmann but it comes from the Bundesarchiv, so it is subject to copyright. Send me a pm if you want to get it for your publication.

Re: Magazine Ritterkreuz number 26 March 2013
Ritterkreuz is now the only magazine which is exclusively dedicated to the Waffen-SS as Siegrunen is not published any more and Der Freiwillige is more axed on the Bundeswehr ! The fact that it is published in Italian is not a great problem since it can be still understood in its great lines by many...

Thanks a lot, Raingun. The book should be published for Christmas. But I still have a lot of work to do.

Ziel Kaukasus
Does anybody know whether "Ziel Kaukasus", from Wilhelm Tieke, is different or identical to "Das Kaukasus und das Öl", also from Wilhelm Tieke but which was published in the eighties ?

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
"The Old Breed" is written in bigger letters than "La 1st Marine Division dans l'enfer du Pacifique" for esthetic reasons but the whole title has been registered as such. I do know the title of the book that I have just written !

Re: Feldgrau Author: Charles Trang
The book on Iwo Jima is essentially a photo book but the book on the 1st Marine Division is its complete history between 1942 and 1945 with a detailed account of its campaigns (Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu and Okinawa).
